Martin Collins is official equine surface supplier for Royal Windsor 2016

Martin Collins Enterprises is proud to be the official equine surface supplier to The Royal Windsor Horse Show which takes place between 11th – 15th May in the private grounds of Windsor Castle.

This year Royal Windsor hosts The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations with four evenings (12-15 May) of equestrian displays including participants from around the world, including the British military and well known musicians and actors.

Show Entries Now Open

National Entries for the Show are now also open for all those hoping to compete at this prestigious major outdoor equine show of the season which offers opportunities for top class national Jumping, invitational national dressage and over 120 showing classes, ranging from lead rein show ponies to heavyweight cobs.  Organisers of the five-day action packed show are predicting record entries to this year’s event.

Riding arenas at The Show

Martin Collins Enterprises has recently completed the newly renovated Castle Arena on the showground. The 6,500m₂ main arena has a purpose built drainage system and is surfaced with ECOTRACK, a specialist equine surface combining silica sand, synthetic fibres and a wax coating. This formula provides a safe durable riding surface that mimics the characteristics of turf and will ensure play in all weathers for the horses and participants.

In addition, Martin Collins are currently installing a 1,625sq.m outdoor riding arena that will be used as a warm-up facility for the 5000 horses that are expected to take part at this year’s show.

The Castle Arena is one of the largest in the world for equestrian sports, and will stage one of the main celebrations to mark Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday this year.

And, to help accommodate the growing demand for national competition at the show, a new addition to 2016 will be the Adelaide Arena at the south end of the show ground which will host many of the In Hand Showing classes.

In total there are 4.5 acres of riding arenas at Windsor.

Nicholas Collins says: “We are proud to have a long association with Royal Windsor Horse Show and it is a great privilege to work at such a unique venue. This year's show will be extremely special and we are honoured to have been involved in the preparations; it's going to be a great event"
