Irish International rider shows off his new UK yard

22 October 2014

In the July issue of Britain's Eventing Magazine, Irish team rider, Austin O’Connor shows readers through the keyhole at his new Attington Sport Horses base in Oxfordshire, an equestrian complex designed and built by leading equestrian builders, Equibuild in conjunction with leading equestrian surfaces provider  Martin Collins, as part of the same group.

The place has been developed by Austin’s long-term and loyal owners, Frank and Kate Jarvey and it’s fabulous facilities include:

  • A 50m x 30m indoor riding school with a Martin Collins Ecotrack surfaceAustin O'Connor
  • A 60m x 40m outdoor school where he jumps the horses, on a Ecotrack Surface
  • 30 mostly newly constructed barn boxes, with some overlooking the indoor school
  • A horse walker

And, described as  the ‘icing on the cake’ is a mile long gallop, just a 5 minute hack from the yard, with a Martin Collins surface which runs the whole length.  The gallops surface is described as ‘so soft that you could walk on it barefoot and dream you are on beach in the Bahamas.

“Everything about this place is perfect,” commented Austin.
