Surface Installation
  • Level and wet existing surface
  • Spread the fibre evenly over the surface, by hand or tractor mounted bale chopper
  • Wet roll the fibre over the surface, ideally using a twin drum vibrating ride on roller (e.g. a Bomag 120).
  • Use a tractor mounted power harrow for the first pass at a depth of 3”
  • Using a tractor mounted rotovator, mix the fibre into the top 3”, until an even spread of fibres is achieved. You may need to make a further pass over the surface
  • Finally, wet roll and 'groom' the surface ready for use, applying more water if needed.
  • It is very important that a sand and fibre surface is kept damp at all times in order that the Clopf® fibre remains bound into the sand. Should the surface be allowed to dry out and the fibre rise to the top,  you will need to rotovate the fibre back into the sand and wet roll as before.

After Care
  • The surface needs to be regularly maintained.
  • For best results the surface should be kept moist and rolled.
  • Any tracking can be removed by a hand rake.
  • Care should be taken when using a machine with deep tines, as these may cause the fibres to become very loose and damage the base.

"It is important to ensure that a sand and fibre surface is kept moist at all times, so that the fibre stays in the surface. It is also important to ensure that you have the correct maintenance machine for your surface. A chain harrow can tear or pull fibre out of the surface, and a fixed blade or gate will pull the surface out of true. We strongly recommend that you factor into your budget an appropriate maintenance machine (such as an Arena Master), which will ensure that your surface will perform to its optimum"
